Phonetography Workshop – take better photos! Taking photos with our mobile phone has become our go-to way to capture special moments. This workshop will give you tips and tricks to start getting the pictures you want. Photographs of your children or grandchildren, your pets, your blossoming summer garden – start capturing the things you look at every day and enjoy for longer the wonderful things around you by capturing them digitally on your device. With the help of our experienced tutor, learn how to compose good shots, how to use your camera in different ways to bring variety to your photographs and see how you can share them. Join us for this useful workshop and gain confidence in digital 'phonetography' in a mutually supportive learning environment.

Course description

This is a 2-hour workshop for beginners/improvers in digital photography using a mobile phone. This practical session aims to help each learner with tips and tricks to achieve photographs to be proud of. Learners will get to grips with some basic guidelines in framing and composing good shots, using the camera from different angles and getting closer to their subject, whatever it is. All this will be done with lots of help and encouragement and there will be time for you to ask questions that you may have.

This workshop is part of Learning at Work Week.

Learning at Work Week is a unique annual event. It’s led nationally by Campaign for Learning and locally WEA, UNISON and Sunderland City Council have got together to provide a range of workshops for you to enjoy. The 2024 theme is ‘Learning Power’: ‘Learning is the ultimate tool, providing the opportunity and means to change and enrich our lives through understanding, knowledge and skills, and see the world in a different way.’

We don't want anything to stand in your way when it comes to bringing Adult learning within reach so if you need anything to support you to achieve your goals then speak to one of our education experts during your enrolment journey. Most of our courses are government funded but if you don't qualify or need alternative financial help to access them then let us know.

All of our digital content, teaching and learning activities and assessments are designed to be accessible so if you need any additional support you can discuss this with the education experts during your enrolment journey and we will do all we can to make sure you have optimal access.
