Textiles and Fashion: Applique

This practical online workshop offers learners the opportunity to explore the textile art of Appliqué. This is a decorative textile process where small pieces of fabric are applied to another, larger piece. We will use the theme of flowers as a starting point and use hand stitch to hold the pieces together. You will begin to produce a painterly style image using fabrics as your palette of colours. You can produce a small sample piece during the session or the piece started may be finished in your own time after the session ends. It would be helpful if you have some experience of applique, but demonstrations and guidance will be provided by the tutor.
