Course overview
Course description
Over the day, we will explore connecting with nature, through mindfulness, drawing exercises and sketching to learn to ‘see’ in a deeper way. We will look at how diverse cultures relate to nature through their art. The day will be about developing our creative process and expression in an artistic way.
The day will be about enjoying being creative and being out in nature (where possible and weather allowing. There will be alternative ways we can connect with nature!). There will be lots of experimenting and no pressure to have a finished piece of work at the end of the day. The idea is to explore and develop our creative process and explore ways of working and being for wellbeing and personal expression.
The emphasis is on approaches and developing our own styles and ways of working. Any media, or craft, is welcomed. There will be some writing involved through haiku. A form of Japanese poetry. We will share our work with the group at the end of the day. There will be opportunity for 1 to 1 tutorial time with your tutor.
Ultimately, the course aims to help participants develop their creative process, discover their unique artistic styles, and find new ways of working for both personal well-being and self-expression.
