Supporting Autistic Children & Teens

During this equality & diversity course, you will study what autism is and how it affects child development. Understand the importance of routine and structure. Develop skills to communicate with autistic children and teens. Explore stigmas and stereotypes in society and learn how to approach the challenges these attitudes bring. Recognise behaviour that challenges and build up a toolkit to deal with it. Learn how to support positive behaviour.

If you’re considering voluntary or job roles supporting autistic children, this course can help you understand the foundational principles.
