Course overview
This is a practical art course where you will explore a range of art materials to create personal drawings and paintings. Grab your sketch pad, pencils or charcoal and join this friendly art class, where you'll learn basic techniques.
You don't have to be an accomplished artist to join this group, this class is for everyone regardless of ability. Your tutor will explain different art techniques and give you the encouragement you need to find your inner artist.
Course description
This is a practical art course where you will explore a range of art materials to create personal drawings and paintings.
You will work from observation, memory and practical projects.
Throughout the course you will:
Identify which drawing materials and tools to use to make personal drawings from observation.
Use charcoal, graphite sticks, paint and collage to create personal art work from observation.
Understand how to draw directly from still life and also from memory.
Understand some of the principles involved in drawings such as perspective.
Enjoy making art in the company of a relaxed and friendly group.
Basic materials will be provided but you may like to bring your sketchbook and pencils which are 2B, 4B or 6B.
