Entry Levels 1,2,3: If you have never studied this subject before and you’re not confident in your skills, Entry levels are a good starting point.
Level 1: Covers basic skills and knowledge needed for this subject
Level 2: Building on basic knowledge or experience. Similar to Grade 4/ C at GCSE or O level in England or Standards in Scotland.
Level 3: Learn about the topic in-depth and have a broad range of skills. Independent working Equivalent to an A level in England or Higher in Scotland.
Beginners: A perfect introduction if you have no experience and skills in this subject.
Improvers: The next step if you have basic skills or knowledge but want to progress them further.

Course overview
Course description
During this course you will gain an understanding of some of the history of paper-mache and some of the items that can be made using this simple low-tech method of recycling paper or card.
You will gain some knowledge about the different materials than can be recycled into paper-mache.
You will be able to select and prepare the chosen material ready to be made into pulp.
You will learn two ways of making pulp for paper-mache, one which uses a blender and one without the need for a blender.
You will be able to select suitable moulds to create the pots and know how to use them once they are dry.
By the end of the course you will have learned a method to recycle scrap materials and transform them into low cost, environmentally friendly biodegradable pots for seedlings.
This course is ideal for gardeners who are looking to reduce their use of plastics and switch to an environmentally friendly method of planting.
This course is held at Growing Links garden in Penzance and is ideal for all levels of learners. You will be guided by our experienced tutor in a small group environment.
This is one of three short courses we are running in partnership with Growing Links to encourage people to use what they find at home and in the gardens to create useful craft items
