On this course, you will develop an understanding of line drawing techniques and how to apply them to outcomes. We'll start by introducing various line drawing methods with visual examples. Next, you'll gain insights into the distinctions between these techniques, enabling you to effectively compare and contrast them, and pick your favourite to use. Through practical exercises, you'll learn how to apply these techniques. You will have the opportunity to showcase your newfound skills by independently creating a unique piece using one of the line-drawing techniques introduced.

This course explores and sheds light on their often-overlooked contributions and celebrates their enduring legacy.

The workshop will briefly introduce the principal ideas of a selection of philosophers and apply these to the discussion of the news headlines and the controversies that lie behind them. This workshop will encourage discussion and sharing of ideas about current affairs and will involve reflecting on how to make philosophy a part of this discussion.

In a Study Day suitable for all we will consider how ancient Egypt treated a neighbour. Nubia is the area immediately to the south of ancient Egypt encompassing the south of Egypt today and much of modern Sudan. Nubia itself developed significant cultural entities especially the Kerma civilization and the later Napatan and Meroitic cultures. However much of the history of Nubia is inter-twined with ancient Egypt. The relationship between ancient Egypt and Nubia is a fascinating one and an ever-changing story. This day school explores the Nubian experience with Egypt from trade, through conquest, to the ‘Black Pharaohs’ of the Kushite period.

This course will help you if English is not your first language and if you are struggling to understand the vocabulary needed to pass the UK Driving Theory Test. During the course, we will cover all the English technical language you are likely to need. You will also learn about the language used in the Highway Code and about transport in the UK. We will also cover road signs, road markings and the rules of driving. The course will help you to feel more confident that you are ready to apply for the Theory Test.

This is the next stage course for learners of intermediate ESOL level to continue their ESOL classes online. During the course you will continue to learn English that will help you better explore and take part in your local community and to help build your employability skills for work. Before you can join the course, your English skills will be checked with a short test so that the tutor can make sure that the class is right for you. This course is for people with some English already. You do not need any ESOL qualifications to join.

Learn how to add found objects and ephemera pieces to your journal Look at ways to include scraps from your stash, including paper, fabric scraps, buttons, ribbon and lace This course is for beginners and for those who are creating mini-albums and memory books for the first time or would like to add to their existing skills. The only requirement is that you have some basic paper- craft supplies on hand, such as card, patterned papers and glue. A full resource list will be available on Canvas for each project.

This Mosaic course is designed to introduce you to new craft skills and help you develop a new craft, whilst designing different images and relaxing, enjoying, being creative with others. Giving you also a chance to make your own plaque, mosaic piece for the table or as a wall hanging. Design and develop your own piece using a verity of broken tiles of different colourful ceramic tiles and upcycling old crockery as well as a number of different other items, such as beads and pebbles. Making your own fun decorative mosaic piece, either for your own home or as a present for someone special, lots of brightly coloured broken ceramic tiles and crockery will be used. Come and join other like-minded people and create a masterpiece!
