Course overview
Course description
Following on from the beginners course in Storytelling for confidence, the intermediate course will further develop ideas and themes previously touched upon and give students an opportunity to add more depth, texture and context to their stories. Students will develop their characters further and look at creating interesting situations and scenarios to put them into, then look at the emotional and intellectual impact these situations and events may have on the characters. Topics covered on this course include -
- Action scenes, danger and peril!: How do characters react to extreme situations? How do characters overcome adversity and danger and how will it affect them?
- Story Tropes: How did they develop? What are the main tropes? What do they mean?
- Character Arcs: How do characters develop? What and how do situations affect characters?
- Role Playing: Starting adventures with created characters!
- Autobiographical Tales: Creating stories that are based on individual experiences
- Storytelling Media: What types of media can be used for telling stories? The difference in each media method
Again this next stage of storytelling will further enhance and develop the learners English language skills and provide more opportunities to create engaging and entertaining stories. Learners will gain confidence through this ability to create characters and stories and infuse them with aspects of themselves and their experiences
