Simply put, they are skills that make everyday life easier. Life skills include cooking, budgeting, communicating with others, health, well-being and managing emotions. Sometimes this means learning new things, and sometimes it means building on things you already know.

Sometimes adulting can be hard. These courses can help make it feel just that bit easier, make you feel more independent and empower you to face the future ahead.

Cooking Practical: Cookery Workshop - Pakora Making

This course teaches the art of making pakoras, a popular Indian snack. Students learn to prepare the batter, select appropriate vegetables, and master frying techniques. Topics include ingredient selection, batter consistency, seasoning, and oil temperature control. Practical sessions focus on hands-on preparation and frying, ensuring crispy, flavourful pakoras every time. Discussions cover variations like onion, potato, and spinach pakoras, along with accompanying chutneys. You will be able to identify health benefits of herbs and spices, learn how to safely batch cook, and learn costing. Emphasis is placed on hygiene, safety, and presentation. By the course end, students gain confidence in creating delicious pakoras, ready to impress friends and family with their culinary skills. Life in the UK Exam Preparation (Linkbridge)

This course is designed to help prepare foreign learners for their Life in the UK test. The course is a first step in teaching learners about what to be expected on the test and what they need to revise for when they plan to take the test later on. The course has a minimum ESOL requirement to join the course as learners need to be of a high intermediate level in order to be able to understand and join in the course fully. The course will introduce you to all aspects of the UK in order to try and pass the UK Citizenship test. You will learn and discuss different laws, UK history, culture and social aspects of what is expected of typical UK citizens in everyday life. Our course is friendly and supportive and run by a fully qualified tutor. Any learners who attended the introduction course can continue on the course and any new learners can enrol also.
