What are life skills?

Simply put, they are skills that make everyday life easier. Life skills include cooking, budgeting, communicating with others, health, well-being and managing emotions. Sometimes this means learning new things, and sometimes it means building on things you already know.

Sometimes adulting can be hard. These courses can help make it feel just that bit easier, make you feel more independent and empower you to face the future ahead.

Healthy Living: Different Perspectives on Mental Health

During this friendly and supportive course you will have the opportunity to explore the meaning and experience of mental distress from four very different viewpoints; the Biological or medical model, various psychological approaches, the societal perspective and a spiritual one. Driving Theory Test Preparation (Hope Church)

This course is designed to help prepare learners for their driving theory test. Cooking on a Budget (Multiply)

Join us to learn how to make delicious food on a budget. This course will show you how to cook using basic ingredients at less than half the cost of shop bought produce. There are two parts to this course, a lunch menu and a ‘make, bake and take’ dish for you to take away with you. The lunch menu guides you through measuring and adjusting ingredients to cater for the volume of people you need to feed and also compares the cost to that of readymade, shop bought dishes. This course also gives you an opportunity to taste the difference between shop bought and freshly made produce.
