Course overview

This beginner to pre-intermediate course will help you to communicate basic ideas in English on a range of everyday topics. You will practise reading, writing, speaking and listening, with a focus on conversation skills. You will also learn new vocabulary, improve your pronunciation, and start to learn about basic English grammar. You will work with other learners at a similar level and be expected to take part in pair and group activities in the classroom. If you have little to no experience speaking and learning English - this is the course for you. We have an experienced and professional tutor who will offer you the guidance, support and practice needed to improve your English language ability. The classes will be relaxed, informal and friendly - a safe space to meet new people and learn new skills. Course description

This is an English course for speakers of other languages. On this course, you will learn to: Talk about yourself, your likes and dislikes, express opinions; Ask questions about personal information and opinions; Talk about everyday topics like, going to the doctor, going to the supermarket and getting around your city- for example, taking the bus; Use everyday vocabulary with input with pronunciation; Use the present tense to talk about what you do everyday, the past tense to talk about what you did before now and the future tense to talk about what you will do next week, next month. Before you can enroll on this course, you will do a skills check to make sure that you are on the right course. For the course, you will need an internet connection to study this course as you will need to access Canvas, our digital learning platform. This platform is used for homework, resources and classroom activities. You will need to use your phone in class to access Canvas and you should also bring a notebook and a pen/pencil to take notes.

This course is ideal for anyone lacking confidence in their English language speaking skills. The course will allow learners to practice, make mistakes and improve their English level in a relaxed and fun environment.

We don't want anything to stand in your way when it comes to bringing Adult learning within reach so if you need anything to support you to achieve your goals then speak to one of our education experts during your enrolment journey. Most of our courses are government funded but if you don't qualify or need.
