Entry Levels 1,2,3: If you have never studied this subject before and you’re not confident in your skills, Entry levels are a good starting point.
Level 1: Covers basic skills and knowledge needed for this subject
Level 2: Building on basic knowledge or experience. Similar to Grade 4/ C at GCSE or O level in England or Standards in Scotland.
Level 3: Learn about the topic in-depth and have a broad range of skills. Independent working Equivalent to an A level in England or Higher in Scotland.
Beginners: A perfect introduction if you have no experience and skills in this subject.
Improvers: The next step if you have basic skills or knowledge but want to progress them further.
Advanced: Build on the solid experience and skills you have in this subject, applying your skills and knowledge in a more complex way.
Course overview
Course description
This course is designed to continue to get learners even more confident when using their English skills in their day to day lives and starting out their journey to gaining employment here in the UK. The course will add to the previous course and is designed for those learners who have very basic English language at the moment. Don't worry, you will be tested before you enrol to make sure that you are on the correct course for your level. The course is designed to help empower learners to find more independence by being a step closer to gaining employment.
The course will be run face to face at the Mosses Centre in Bury, not far away from Bury market and the bus and tram station. It's a local friendly community venue where learners will be taught in a classroom by a qualified tutor. The classes will have a mixture of activities including activities to enhance their confidence through the learning of the essential skills such as speaking, listening, reading and writing. The course offered is unaccredited, however it is hoped that it can progress learners towards an accredited entry 1 qualification in the skills of Speaking & Listening, Reading, and Writing.
