Would you like to help children gain confidence in their reading as well as English and maths? Then this may be the course for you. You will learn a range of strategies to help children in schools or your own children at home to become more confident in their ability. This course is ideal for anyone looking to progress onto work or volunteering in an education setting. Join us online for this 4 week course to find out support work in schools. Run in partnership with Sanctuary housing.

Course description

This course will give you the background knowledge and confidence to become an effective helper in school and/or to help your children’s learning at home.

This course is aimed at those who would like to progress into work or volunteering in an educational setting and could lead onto an accredited Level 2 award in support work in schools or help to find work in a school or any educational setting.

The course will focus on supporting children with their reading, maths, English and homework and what kind of strategies to use. It will look at children’s development through play and how best to support their development.

You will learn about legislation and safeguarding practices such as keeping children safe in education. Learn about practical strategies for encouraging children’s social, emotional and behavioural development to support them through school.

This course will give you the essential knowledge and confidence to work effectively in any educational setting.
