Entry Levels 1,2,3: If you have never studied this subject before and you’re not confident in your skills, Entry levels are a good starting point.
Level 1: Covers basic skills and knowledge needed for this subject
Level 2: Building on basic knowledge or experience. Similar to Grade 4/ C at GCSE or O level in England or Standards in Scotland.
Level 3: Learn about the topic in-depth and have a broad range of skills. Independent working Equivalent to an A level in England or Higher in Scotland.
Beginners: A perfect introduction if you have no experience and skills in this subject.
Improvers: The next step if you have basic skills or knowledge but want to progress them further.
Advanced: Build on the solid experience and skills you have in this subject, applying your skills and knowledge in a more complex way.
Course overview
Course description
This course will be taught through the use of Zoom and Canvas as an online learning platform. All learners will be fully supported by their tutor and no prior learning is needed to attend this course. The course focusses on the daily challenges experienced by the deaf community. The tutor will teach you some basic vocabulary for greetings and you will further explore the barriers that deaf people face in their daily lives. During the session you will take part in activities involving break out activities and full support will be provided to ensure you are able to take part in each element of the course. Captions will be displayed in the session to assist learning for anyone needing this additional support. You will develop a deeper understanding of the deaf world and will gain useful knowledge and insight of how you can communicate with people that are deaf. The course will be exciting and interactive and will hopefully fulfil you with the passion to want to learn more about this amazing language.
