This course is for residents of Norfolk only- Please only apply for this course if you live in the County of Norfolk. Do you lack confidence with numbers? On this self-study course, you will use the WEA's fun, engaging, interactive multimedia resources to help grow your confidence with maths. You can learn at your own pace, at a time that suits you and take as long as you need to complete the course. From working out your household budget, to helping your kids with their school work, there is a module for you. From time to time, one of our friendly Numeracy Coaches will check in with you to provide any support that you need.

In this course, we embark on an exciting journey into the world of digital photography, focusing on building essential numeracy skills along the way. From understanding camera settings to composing captivating shots, we'll cover the basics of photography in a simple and engaging manner. Through hands-on activities and interactive lessons, participants will learn how to master the fundamentals of photography while simultaneously enhancing their numeracy abilities. Join us to unlock your creativity, improve your photography skills, and boost your confidence in working with numbers!

You are welcome to come along to a supported enrolment session on 22nd May between 1.30pm and 3.30pm, to help guide you through the enrolment process. We will support you getting signed up for the course that starts on the 5th June. Have you thought about gaining some digital skills but didn’t know quite where to turn? If the answer to these questions is a resounding “Yes!” then you will feel right at home on our new Digital Skills for Everyday Living course. Here at the WEA, we have been busy developing this new and exciting course for people with little or no experience of digital technologies who want to acquire the skills to become ‘digitally literate’ in their everyday life and work. Our aim is to empower you to confidently engage with the digital world of laptops, smart phones, email, news, word processing, social media, entertainment, shopping and more.

Join us to learn how to make delicious food on a budget. This course will show you how to cook using basic ingredients at less than half the cost of shop bought produce. There are two parts to this course, a lunch menu and a ‘make, bake and take’ dish for you to take away with you. The lunch menu guides you through measuring and adjusting ingredients to cater for the volume of people you need to feed and also compares the cost to that of Ready Made, shop bought dishes. This course also gives you an opportunity to taste the difference between shop bought and freshly made produce. This course is free to anyone in Norfolk who is 19+ and hasn't achieved a grade C (equivalent) in Maths.

THIS IS A FREE 'MULTIPLY' COURSE FOR NORFOLK RESIDENTS ONLY Starting your small business is an introductory course for anyone who is considering setting up a small or micro-business or is considering self-employment as a career option. If you are looking at this course because you are considering working for yourself in some capacity, you will find lots of interesting information. If you have a small business in mind or want to become self-employed, this course will answer your initial questions and help you to focus on the most important aspects of this ambitious and exciting endeavour. Some activities ask you to think about a business you are planning to start, but if you do not have a business in mind, you can consider any potential business for the exercises.

This short course is designed for ESOL learners who want to learn more about the language and skills that will help you manage your money, make good shopping decisions, and understand budgeting. The course will look at the principles of managing money in everyday situations like comparing prices on the high street, working out the best deal for transport to get to work or learning, or the cost of cooking a meal.

This course will help you develop a healthy relationship with money. It will help get your money sorted and make sure you’re getting the best deals. Our course can help you plan your money, stick to your budget and find better ways to make savings. This course is designed to support individuals with using numeracy skills to manage their money. Learners will gain support in becoming more confident using basic everyday maths skills and learn how to budget within their means for example you will learn how to create affordable meals within your own budget. You’ll get practical budgeting tips you can apply in the kitchen and spotting a bargain when shopping and how to get the best value deals and offers to make your money stretch further.

This is a free course for parents like you, with tips and tactics to help your primary school children with numbers even if you struggle with numbers yourself!
