Foundations in Volunteering is a course for those who want to learn about volunteering in a friendly and supportive way. You’ll explore what a volunteer does, how local voluntary organisations work, and the skills you need to volunteer successfully. The course explains the basic rules and responsibilities that volunteers may need to follow. You’ll also look at what mentoring is and learn how it is different from volunteering. Through discussions and simple activities, you’ll build your confidence and develop a clear understanding of what volunteering involves. By the end, you’ll feel more prepared to take part in volunteering opportunities in your community.

Get Ready for ESOL is a pre‑entry course for adults who are at the very beginning of their English language journey. This 24‑hour course helps you build the essential skills you need before joining an accredited Entry 1 ESOL qualification. You will learn to take part in short conversations, understand simple spoken information, read everyday words and signs, and write basic words and phrases. You will also develop strategies to ask for repetition or clarification when you do not understand. This course provides a supportive introduction to English and prepares you for further ESOL study.

This course guides you through practical craft activities that support mindfulness and wellbeing. It is ideal if you want to explore creativity in a relaxed and supportive environment. You don’t need any previous experience. You will take part in hands-on activities such as drawing, painting, collage, simple textiles, or working with recycled and natural materials. The focus is on fully engaging in the creative process, helping you to concentrate, relax, and enjoy a sense of achievement. You will also learn how crafting can support mindfulness by encouraging reflection, being present, and expressing yourself. As you work, you will develop skills in patience, creativity, problem solving, and focus—either independently or with others.

Build up your writing skills with these ESOL classes. This English course for beginners is aimed at speakers of other languages. It will help you learn writing skills that will support you to work or study in the UK. This ESOL entry 2 writing course builds on skills you learnt at entry 1. Expand your knowledge of grammar and improve your writing skills in English. There are also reading and speaking & listening courses at this level. Across six 2‑hour sessions, learners explore how to recognise signs of abuse or neglect, understand their responsibilities, and respond appropriately when concerns arise. The course covers types of harm, safe professional boundaries, online safety, early help, and how to report or escalate concerns. Through discussion, case studies and practical scenarios, learners build confidence in identifying risks, supporting children’s wellbeing, and knowing what actions to take to keep children and young people safe.

Support is available at every stage, and activities are broken down into clear, manageable steps. You will also try basic job‑search tasks, such as looking at job adverts and identifying what skills employers want. You will have the chance to practise answering simple interview questions, helping you feel more confident talking about yourself in a positive way. By the end of the course, you will leave with a clearer CV, increased confidence, and practical knowledge to help you move closer to employment or further training.

The course focuses on building knowledge of the Highway Code, road signs, and driving rules while developing the English vocabulary needed to understand and answer test questions.
