Fashion reflects the influence of politics, trade, social exchange and foreign encounter. In this course, we will explore the changing fashions of seventeenth-century Britain. Alongside sessions that consider the history of fashion are practical, hands-on sessions that explore the materials used, and construction techniques employed by makers of the period. You may not be an expert by the end, but you will have first-hand understanding of how, and with what, clothing of the 17th century was made. Learners will come away with a folder of textile samples, weaving cards, and a piece that they have worked.

Join us in this fun and relaxing online course, where you will earn to create beautiful, complex mandala patterns and apply them to various surfaces to embellish items such as plain cards, notebook and coasters, using just simple pens and/or pencils. You will be astounded when you see the complexity of patterns that you can achieve just from combining a few very basic pattern motifs and exploiting the art of mindful repetition. Once you’ve mastered the basics, you can allow your creativity to take over and you will discover which are your favourite motifs whether they’re floral rhythmic or geometric, or a mixture of all!

This is the next stage course for entry level learners to continue ESOL classes. During the course you will continue to learn basic English that will help you better explore and take part in your local community and to help build your employability skills for work. Before you can join the course, your English skills will be checked with a short test so that the tutor can make sure that the class is right for you. This course is for people with little English. You do not need any ESOL qualifications to join.

The ESOL course for adults integrates English language skills with budgeting fundamentals in order to equip learners with more confidence in budgeting in the British systems. Participants will develop language proficiency while mastering essential budgeting concepts to help them manage their personal finances. Topics cover basic vocabulary related to finance, such as income, understanding pay slips expenses, banking terminology, savings, benefits, bills, universal credit etc. Practical exercises and real-life examples will be used to help with understanding of budgeting principles in real-life scenarios.

This course is for adult learners whose first language is not English. It is an ESOL course for learners with a good level of English, working around Level 1 or higher. On this course you will practise and build on all skills of English, including reading, listening and speaking, but the focus will be on reading. Before you can enrol on this course, you’ll do a skills check. This is for us to make sure you get on the right course for your level. Please note that you’ll need an internet connection to study this course so you can access our digital learning platform, Canvas.

This Intermediate Pixlr Online Photo Editor course is aimed at Beginners with some basic knowledge of photo editing and who want to improve and learn further skills. You will learn how to enhance your images by adding effects and text. Removing unwanted marks and objects and cloning areas. Combining and manipulating images. Replacing colours. How to repair an old photograph.

This course has been developed to inspire and develop confidence in learners with LDD before moving on to other courses. All classes are supported by a qualified tutor to ensure teaching is student centred, tailored to meet your specific needs Resources used in lessons are available via our online learning platform and you will be supported to use this both in and outside of classes. This course is aimed at students with little or no experience of using computers. On this course you will learn to use computers to write letters, create flyers, posters or other word-processed documents and send and read emails. Developed for students with mild to moderate learning difficulties and or disabilities, you will learn at a pace that suits your needs and develop your confidence, in well supported small-group sessions.
