Course overview

This course will help you to improve your English skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing while learning more about the world of work in the UK. Through a range of activities, you will build your confidence in preparation for applying for jobs. You will learn about vocabulary used to describe jobs and work and practise the language of job applications and interviews. You will improve your overall English and develop employability skills.

Course description

This is an English course for adults with an Entry 2 / 3 level of ESOL. You will develop your English language skills. Before you can enrol on this course, you’ll do a skills check. This is for us to make sure you get on the right course for your level.

Please note that you’ll need an internet connection to study this English course in Creative Writing. This is so you can access our digital learning platform, Canvas. We use Canvas for homework, and also for tasks and activities in the classroom.

You will need to use your phone in class to work on Canvas, and you should also bring a notebook and pen or pencil.

On this course you will learn to:

• use new words related to jobs and work

• write a simple CV

• read and understand simple job descriptions

• speak about your experience and skills

• complete a job application form

What financial support is available?

We don't want anything to stand in your way when it comes to bringing Adult learning within reach so if you need anything to support you to achieve your goals then speak to one of our education experts during your enrolment journey. Most of our courses are government funded but if you don't qualify or need.

All of our digital content, teaching and learning activities and assessments are designed to be accessible so if you need any additional support you can discuss this with the education experts during your enrolment journey and we will do all we can to make sure you have optimal access.
