Course overview
Course description
You’ll begin by learning how to use a variety of materials, tools and equipment safely and effectively to develop your textile craft techniques. You’ll explore their properties and experiment with different ways to manipulate and combine them. You will focus on developing your own creative ideas. You’ll be encouraged to research, plan and refine your designs, considering both aesthetic and practical aspects. This unit supports your ability to think creatively and critically about your work. You will create a finished textile item, present it appropriately, and evaluate the process and outcome. You’ll reflect on your learning, assess your use of materials and techniques, and consider how your work could be improved or developed further
