What type of courses do we offer?
The WEA offers a rich variety of adult education courses in key subjects.
All these subjects cover important foundation areas that offer a personal and professional development opportunity for students to build their confidence, improve their health and wellbeing, get new skills for life and work and also empower them to be more engaged citizens in their communities.
Our courses are part-time and usually run during the day, mostly on weekdays, but we also offer evening classes and weekend 'day schools' all year round. New courses are added as they become available so keep checking for new courses in your area.

Where are the courses delivered?
Our courses are delivered in various regions across the country and in multiple locations. We work with a wide variety of local organisations, schools and charities, who often become partners of the WEA helping to plan and organise our courses or provide venues and help recruit students.
What are the course fees?
Our course fees vary according to the length of the course and how many teaching hours the course involves. You can see our course fees when accessing our course listings online. Some students are eligible for fee remission.
As part of the WEA funding most courses require students to present a form of ID once a year. The funding helps the WEA keep learning affordable and in reach for all adults. To find out more, click here.

What are the benefits of WEA courses?
Many of our students report significant impact upon their lives as a result of studying with the WEA. For some, it becomes a lifelong passion for others, an opportunity to get back into work or even start their own business.
The WEA has changed for good the lives of people like Jill, Margaret, Richard, Yvette and also communities in Rochdale or Worcester. Read our inspiring stories.
