Applying for jobs can feel overwhelming, especially if you're not used to doing it online. Thankfully, there are simple digital tools that make the process easier, and you can access them right from your smartphone. This course helps you build the skills to search and apply for jobs using your smartphone. You’ll learn how to upload your CV, write a cover letter specific to a job role, use the basics of AI and apply for a job role using your smartphone. This course is designed for beginners and offers step-by-step guidance in a supportive environment.

You will practise opening links, viewing short learning videos, and completing guided online activities using familiar devices. The course covers basic navigation skills, recognising key onscreen symbols, typing short answers, and using simple features like play/pause and zoom. You will explore safe behaviour online and learn how to ask for help when unsure.

English for Everyday Life (Entry 1) helps learners develop basic English for daily communication. The course focuses on simple speaking, listening, reading and writing skills used in familiar situations such as shopping, travel, appointments and home routines. Learners practise short conversations, understand basic instructions, read simple words and sentences, and write short phrases. Activities are practical and confidence‑building, helping learners use English in real‑life situations. This course prepares learners for further ESOL study and progression to Entry 2 ESOL level courses such as Practical English Skills.

Across three 2‑hour sessions, learners explore common risks, how to prevent accidents, and what to do when concerns arise. The course covers topics such as home safety, recognising signs of illness, responding to minor injuries, safe supervision, and understanding when professional help is needed. Through discussion, demonstrations and practical examples, learners build confidence in creating a safer environment for children and supporting their wellbeing.

Confidence Building is a friendly, supportive course designed to help you feel more confident in everyday life and work. You will explore self-belief, communication skills, and practical ways to manage nerves and negative thinking. The course can be tailored to your goals—whether you are returning to work, preparing for interviews, starting a small business, or wanting to improve your self-esteem. You will take part in activities such as group discussions, goal setting, role play, and simple planning tasks. Step by step, you will build your confidence, share experiences, and celebrate your progress in a safe and encouraging environment. By the end of the course, you will leave with practical skills and a personal action plan to help you take your next steps.

You will explore what good customer service looks like across different sector areas, learn how to communicate effectively, understand customer needs and respond to enquiries in a friendly and professional way. Level 1 functional skills courses are not like learning English at school. They’re created by adults for adults, and aim to teach you practical English skills through real-life situations. Strengthen your writing skills and learn reading techniques to help you tackle everyday situations at work or while studying. This adult English course helps you develop your language skills through real-life situations. Functional Skills level 1 is a government-funded accredited English course for adults. Functional Skills qualifications are free if you don't already have a GCSE in English or Maths at grades A*-C, or 4-9. We'll check your level and any previous qualifications before you start. This ensures you are on the correct course.

Learn basic writing skills with this foundational English course for beginners. This English course is for speakers of other languages. It will help you learn to write in English to study, work, and live in the UK. Entry 1 ESOL courses help people who are just starting to learn English. It will help you gain confidence to write basic sentences in English. There are also reading and speaking & listening courses at this level.
