Join us to learn how to make delicious food on a budget. This course will show you how to cook using basic ingredients at less than half the cost of shop bought produce. There are two parts to this course, a lunch menu and a ‘make, bake and take’ dish for you to take away with you. The lunch menu guides you through measuring and adjusting ingredients to cater for the volume of people you need to feed and also compares the cost to that of Ready Made, shop bought dishes. This course also gives you an opportunity to taste the difference between shop bought and freshly made produce.

Art Appreciation: Women Artists: from Sofonisba Anguissola to Georgia O'Keeffe

This course focuses on the lives and careers of women artists from the Renaissance to modern art in Europe and Northern America. Starting with painters like Sister Plautilla Nelli and Sofonisba Anguissola in Italy, we will explore a variety of contexts as we move across time and space. We will study Dutch and French painters and sculptors, as well as Russian, German, Finnish, and American ones. For each, we will consider issues of training, exhibiting and selling, and will see how social norms impacted these artists’ path to success and lasting. There will be two outings, to Tate Britain and Tate Modern (location tbc), on 14th of May, and 25th of June.
