Advanced ESOL Essential Skills

This course is funded by the West Midlands Combined Authority and is only available to residents living within the West Midlands Combined Authority area. Advanced ESOL Essential Skills (Entry 3) develops the language needed for more complex everyday communication at home, in the community and in work‑related situations. Learners practise taking part in discussions, understanding longer explanations, reading everyday documents and writing short paragraphs on familiar topics. The course focuses on building confidence using clearer, more detailed English in real‑life situations such as making arrangements, giving opinions, asking questions and understanding simple procedures. Activities include role‑play, group discussions, reading tasks and guided writing to help learners communicate more independently and accurately. By the end of the course, learners will feel more confident managing everyday communication and will be prepared for higher‑level ESOL study or entry‑level employment.

Conversation with Crafting

Conversating with Crafting is a 12 session course designed to help adult ESOL learners build confidence in speaking and listening while enjoying a range of simple, creative craft activities. Foundations in the Creative Arts

Foundations in the Creative Arts enables you to explore creativity in a relaxed, supportive space. Creative Arts is an umbrella term covering a range of activities and themes such as practical art, drawing and painting, mosaics, sewing and craft, and creative writing. No previous experience is needed, making the set course ideal as a first step back into learning. The course supports health and wellbeing by encouraging relaxation, mindfulness through making, and time to focus on enjoyable creative activities. You will build confidence, reduce stress, and develop a sense of achievement while connecting with others in a positive, social environment. Sessions focus on simple techniques, sharing ideas, and enjoying the creative process rather than perfection.
