Craft: Making Books

By the end of the course, you will know what terms such as signature and gsm mean. You will be able to recycle unwanted paper into new paper to use in a book. You will learn how pages can be stitched together to create a book. You will understand how different types of books can be made from the simplest, using one piece of paper, to a covered hardback book. Art Practical: Intermediate Pottery-Hand Building Techniques

To create, design and make a range of pottery items using hand building techniques, with earthenware clay and glazes. Build on skills using techniques of pinching, coiling, press moulding, slab building and tile making. Explore and use different methods of applying surface decoration to enhance the visual qualities of pottery work. Use sketch books to support the development of ideas. Work in a relaxed and supported environment. Create with clay and discover the feeling of wellbeing it can provide.
