As an Association Officer, you'll serve a four-year term, representing the interests of WEA members and learners on the Board of Trustees. The President and Deputy President play vital roles in guiding the organisation's strategic vision and ensuring member voices are heard at all levels.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Chairing (President) or Deputy Chairing (Deputy President) the WEA Council
  • Serving on the Board of Trustees
  • Advocating for the needs and interests of WEA members, learners and stakeholders within the education sector, and with government, locally and nationally
  • Contributing to the development of policies and initiatives to enhance WEA's impact

Key Dates:

  • 1 March 2024: Nominations open
  • 2 April 2024: Nominations close
  • 8 - 18 April 2024: Candidate interviews
  • 19 April 2024: Nominations Committee confirms candidates
  • 22 April - 24 May 2024: Election period
  • 5 June 2024: Election results announced

Eligibility:

To stand for candidacy, support another member’s candidacy, or vote in the elections, individuals must be Association Members. This includes current subscribing members, recent learners, volunteers, or supporters of WEA activities.
