Christopher Budd

Christopher is a writer, teacher, and musician, with a specialism in music for film. He studied Film Music at Northbrook College Sussex, graduating with First Class honours, and followed that with a PGCE at Brighton University.
He has been a WEA lecturer since 2018, delivering courses on film music, special effects, costume, and women in early cinema, among other topics. He also lectures for The Arts Society as well as for several independent groups, film clubs and festivals. His interests include silent cinema, Hollywood from the studio system to the experimental ’70s, and British and European film and music of the 1960s and 70s.
He has written for publications including Music Teacher and Classical Music on diverse topics and contributes a regularly column about noteworthy album covers to music magazine Shindig!
He also teaches private instrumental lessons and records as a session musician.
