Andrew Law

Externally Co-opted Trustee, Education Committee Chair

Andrew is Director of Business Innovation at The Open University, with a strong track record of leading complex, high-impact strategic projects across higher and further education. In his role, Andrew has played a central part in shaping new approaches to educational delivery, partnerships, and growth.

He has led several landmark initiatives, including the Open University’s first-ever merger and acquisition, demonstrating expertise in organisational change, governance, and strategic integration. Andrew was also instrumental in developing the University’s Short Course and Microcredential Strategy, expanding access to flexible learning and supporting lifelong skills development.

In addition, Andrew has overseen significant FE and skills-related work, including leadership of the £10 million Department for Education and Office for Students–funded Higher Education in Further Education project. This work has strengthened collaboration between higher and further education and supported new pathways for learners and employers.

Through his work, Andrew brings deep experience in innovation, partnership development, and large-scale programme delivery, alongside a strong commitment to widening participation and improving skills outcomes.
