Externally Co-opted Trustee

Amanda joined the Board of Trustees as an external co-opted trustee in May 2025.

Amanda is a passionate advocate for adult education and social justice, with extensive experience in governance, strategic leadership, and community engagement. Over the past 15 years, she has held multiple trustee roles and has served as a Chief Executive Officer and Company Secretary since 2014. Her expertise includes strategic planning, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance, with a strong track record in growing mission-driven organisations.

Beyond governance, Amanda has hands-on experience in campaign management, digital learning, and community-led initiatives. She has co-designed CPD-accredited online training, endorsed by the British Dietetic Association, and is currently collaborating with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) to develop specialised training for care professionals. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she successfully transitioned a mobile community cookery school to an online platform, ensuring service continuity and creating a more scalable and cost-effective model.

Amanda has also co-founded an All-Party Parliamentary Group to influence policy and established a multiple-award-winning Community Interest Company, delivering impactful community-led education programmes. A strong proponent of lifelong learning, she actively pursues professional development through platforms such as Coursera and FutureLearn and has recently completed a WEA course in Coaching and Professional Development. Her deep commitment to accessible education and digital transformation positions her as a valuable contributor to organisations dedicated to social change and learning opportunities for all.
