What is happening with Parliament?

The Prime Minister has secured a prorogation of Parliament from mid-September to 14 October. This means that the current session of Parliament comes to an end and a new one begins with a Queen’s Speech on 14 October.

The news is full of commentary on this and it raises big questions about Parliamentary procedure and the nature of democracy. Even constitutional experts are going back to their textbooks to look for precedents and explanations for what might happen next. It’s difficult to keep up and many people are asking how they can get involved and influence things.

Lifelong Learning For Parents

The summer holidays are in full swing. If you are a parent, then it's a great time to spend quality time with your children. After all the fun in the sun, your children or nephews and nieces might want to learn something new. This could be something they do at summer school or in the comfort of their own home. Learning never stops, so why not try out a new hobby yourself? Whether it be cooking, history, creative writing or a DIY course.
