The Prime Minister has secured a prorogation of Parliament from mid-September to 14 October. This means that the current session of Parliament comes to an end and a new one begins with a Queen’s Speech on 14 October.
The news is full of commentary on this and it raises big questions about Parliamentary procedure and the nature of democracy. Even constitutional experts are going back to their textbooks to look for precedents and explanations for what might happen next. It’s difficult to keep up and many people are asking how they can get involved and influence things.
Early August saw the launch of the new monthly regional newsletters to students in England. These are designed to host the updates regions and you as volunteers want to share regionally.
