This course is funded by the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority and is only available to residents living within the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority area. This course is designed to help you prepare for the UK driving theory test in a practical way. The course focuses on building knowledge of the Highway Code, road signs, and driving rules while developing the English vocabulary needed to understand and answer test questions. By the end of the course, you will have gained confidence, improved understanding of road safety, and developed the skills needed to progress successfully to the theory test.

ESOL for Life in the UK helps lower level ESOL learners build the language and cultural knowledge needed to take part confidently in everyday life. The course introduces key UK services such as schools, healthcare and local councils, and explores common celebrations and public holidays. Learners develop simple language to talk about rights, responsibilities and daily routines. Activities include discussions, matching tasks, short texts and guided speaking practice. The course supports learners to describe personal experiences, understand how life in the UK works and communicate more independently in familiar situations.

This adult English course helps you develop your language skills through real-life situations. Functional Skills level 1 is a government-funded accredited English course for adults. Functional Skills qualifications are free if you don't already have a GCSE in English or Maths at grades A*-C, or 4-9. We'll check your level and any previous qualifications before you start. English for Learning and Life is a pre‑entry course designed to help learners build the early language, confidence and study skills needed for everyday life in the UK and for progression to the Get Ready for ESOL course. Learners develop essential skills such as recognising familiar words, understanding simple classroom language, and using basic English to communicate needs in routine situations. The course introduces simple reading and writing tasks, supports learners to build confidence in group activities and helps them develop early learning habits. It provides a supportive first step for learners who are new to English or new to learning.
