ESOL entry 3 courses build on skills you learnt at entry 2. Gain confidence speaking in new and familiar situations and learn tools for effective communication. This is an English course for adults. It is aimed at speakers of other languages. ESOL classes are divided into three areas: reading, writing, and speaking & listening. It is suitable if you are new to job‑seeking, returning to work, or want to improve your confidence with applications. During the session, you will learn what a CV is for and what employers look for. You will be guided to create a simple CV or improve one you already have, using your skills, experience, and interests. Support is available at every stage, and activities are broken down into clear, manageable steps. You will also try basic job‑search tasks, such as looking at job adverts and identifying what skills employers want. You will have the chance to practise answering simple interview questions, helping you feel more confident talking about yourself in a positive way. By the end of the course, you will leave with a clearer CV, increased confidence, and practical knowledge to help you move closer to employment or further training.

You will practise opening links, viewing short learning videos, and completing guided online activities using familiar devices. The course covers basic navigation skills, recognising key onscreen symbols, typing short answers, and using simple features like play/pause and zoom. You will explore safe behaviour online and learn how to ask for help when unsure.

Develop skills to help you read, write, and communicate in English with confidence. Improved language skills open doors to work and study opportunities and help you learn key skills for employment. Level 1 functional skills courses are not like learning English at school. They’re created by adults for adults, and aim to teach you practical English skills through real-life situations. Strengthen your writing skills and learn reading techniques to help you tackle everyday situations at work or while studying. This adult English course helps you develop your language skills through real-life situations. Functional Skills level 1 is a government-funded accredited English course for adults. Functional Skills qualifications are free if you don't already have a GCSE in English or Maths at grades A*-C, or 4-9. We'll check your level and any previous qualifications before you start. This ensures you are on the correct course.

This short 6‑hour course introduces adults to the essential knowledge and practical awareness needed to keep children safe and healthy at home and in everyday situations. Across three 2‑hour sessions, learners explore common risks, how to prevent accidents, and what to do when concerns arise. The course covers topics such as home safety, recognising signs of illness, responding to minor injuries, safe supervision, and understanding when professional help is needed. Through discussion, demonstrations and practical examples, learners build confidence in creating a safer environment for children and supporting their wellbeing.
