English for Learning and Life is a pre‑entry course designed to help learners build the early language, confidence and study skills needed for everyday life in the UK and for progression to the Get Ready for ESOL course. Learners develop essential skills such as recognising familiar words, understanding simple classroom language, and using basic English to communicate needs in routine situations. The course introduces simple reading and writing tasks, supports learners to build confidence in group activities and helps them develop early learning habits. It provides a supportive first step for learners who are new to English or new to learning.

A CV is a document that tells employers about you, your skills, and your experience. During the course, you will learn what a CV is and why it is important when looking for work or volunteering. You will look at the different parts of a CV, such as your personal details, skills, work and/or volunteering experience. You will think about your own strengths and the things you are good at. You will practise writing short sentences about yourself and your experience. The course will also help you understand what employers want to see on a CV and how to present your information clearly. By the end of the course, you will have created your own CV that you can use when applying for jobs, courses, or volunteering opportunities. You will also feel more confident talking about your skills and experience. You will look at the different parts of a CV, such as your personal details, skills, work and/or volunteering experience. Learn basic writing skills with this foundational English course for beginners. This English course is for speakers of other languages. It will help you learn to write in English to study, work, and live in the UK. Entry 1 ESOL courses help people who are just starting to learn English. It will help you gain confidence to write basic sentences in English. There are also reading and speaking & listening courses at this level. If you’re helping others access ESOL classes in the UK, you’ve come to the right place.

English for Work Readiness (Entry 3) develops the language needed for more complex everyday and work‑related communication. Learners practise taking part in discussions, understanding longer explanations, reading everyday documents and writing short paragraphs. The course builds confidence in communicating independently at home, in the community and in work‑related situations. Activities focus on real‑life tasks such as making arrangements, giving opinions, understanding procedures and writing clear messages. This course prepares learners for Level 1 ESOL course such as English for Work and Study or entry‑level employment.

Get Ready for ESOL is a pre‑entry course for adults who are at the very beginning of their English language journey. This 24‑hour course helps you build the essential skills you need before joining an accredited Entry 1 ESOL qualification. You will learn to take part in short conversations, understand simple spoken information, read everyday words and signs, and write basic words and phrases. You will also develop strategies to ask for repetition or clarification when you do not understand. This course provides a supportive introduction to English and prepares you for further ESOL study.

Practical English Skills (Entry 2) helps learners develop more confident English for everyday communication at home, in the community and in simple work‑related situations. The course builds on Entry 1 skills and introduces longer conversations, short texts and straightforward writing tasks. Learners practise giving information, asking questions, understanding short explanations and reading everyday materials such as notes, messages, leaflets and timetables. Activities focus on real‑life situations including making arrangements, asking for help, following instructions and talking about daily routines. The course supports learners to communicate with greater independence and prepares them for progression to Entry 3 ESOL.

The course focuses on simple speaking, listening, reading and writing skills used in familiar situations such as shopping, travel, appointments and home routines. Learners practise short conversations, understand basic instructions, read simple words and sentences, and write short phrases. Activities are practical and confidence‑building, helping learners use English in real‑life situations. This course prepares learners for further ESOL study and progression to Entry 2 ESOL level courses such as Practical English Skills.
