Step Into Care

This is a pre-employment programme delivered online that is designed to support you into work within Adult Social Care. The programme will help you to prepare for work in a care setting. The programme consists of three elements: GMCA Care Certificate (where you will cover the theory elements of the Care Certificate), L1 Stress Awareness and L1 Mental Health Awareness (additional accredited courses you can join if suitable). Once you have completed the course with WEA, GM Careers will place you for a working interview in a social care setting. this is designed like a working interview, to give you the opportunity to try out the working environment. Week 1: Mon, Tues, Weds – 03rd – 05th June Week 2: Mon, Tues, Weds – 10th – 12th June Week 3: Mon, Tues, Weds – 17th – 19th June Week 4: Mon, Tues, Weds – 24th – 26th June Week 5: Mon, Tues, Weds – 01st – 03rd July WEA are working in partnership with GM Careers to deliver this programme. You must live in Manchester to take part in this programme. The course will cover key elements of the Care Certificate (which all social care workers must undertake), it will support you to write a CV and prepare for interviews and it also includes a work placement at the end of the training. You will meet with GM Careers throughout the course to discuss your work placement. We will be learning together as a committed team, with some fun along the way.
