What are life skills?

Simply put, they are skills that make everyday life easier. Life skills include cooking, budgeting, communicating with others, health, well-being and managing emotions. Sometimes this means learning new things, and sometimes it means building on things you already know.

Sometimes adulting can be hard. These courses can help make it feel just that bit easier, make you feel more independent and empower you to face the future ahead.

Beginners British Sign Language (BSL)

If you have contact with deaf people in your day-to-day life, you may want to take a British Sign Language course. Knowing how to sign can make your communication more inclusive for everyone you interact with. This BSL course is suitable for you if you need to communicate with deaf people in a voluntary or community role, or simply through social interactions. This course is aimed at complete beginners. Personal Development: Preparing for the Driving Theory Test (part 2)

Cooking on a budget for Under 1 Roof (Multiply Norfolk)

Join us to learn how to make delicious food on a budget. This course will show you how to cook using basic ingredients at less than half the cost of shop bought produce. There are two parts to this course, a lunch menu and a ‘make, bake and take’ dish for you to take away with you. The lunch menu guides you through measuring and adjusting ingredients to cater for the volume of people you need to feed and also compares the cost to that of Ready Made, shop bought dishes. This course also gives you an opportunity to taste the difference between shop bought and freshly made produce. This course is free to anyone in Norfolk who is 19+ and hasn't achieved a grade C (equivalent) in Maths.

Would you like to learn new skills or change jobs? It can be hard to get back into learning after a long break. Seated Yoga

This is a follow on from the intermediate seated yoga class. If you are new to the class, do not worry as the teacher will differentiate the poses to ensure all students can engage in the session. During this relaxed and friendly short course, you will learn accessible extended seated yoga techniques and embed breathing techniques and a mediation into your practice. Learn a series of seated yoga techniques to stretch and tone your body using tin cans as weight bearing to strengthen the muscles. It would be useful to bring a yoga strap.
