Course overview
Course description
This course will help you understand your basic rights and responsibilities in the workplace, so you can feel more confident, informed, and prepared for work. It is suitable for anyone starting a new job, returning to work, or wanting to learn more about how the workplace works.
You will learn about important things that every worker should know, including your right to be paid correctly, to work in a safe environment, and to be treated fairly and with respect. The course will also help you understand what employers expect from you, such as good timekeeping, following instructions, working safely, and behaving professionally at work.
Throughout the course, you will look at real‑life examples and simple workplace situations to help you understand how these rights and responsibilities apply in everyday working life. This will include what to do if something goes wrong, such as a problem with pay, unsafe equipment, or unfair treatment at work.
You will also learn where to go for support and advice if you need help, and how to raise a concern in a simple and appropriate way. No previous experience is needed, and support will be provided throughout.
