Course overview

This is a new ESOL course aimed for beginner ESOL learners, offering them a friendly and safe online environment to practise speaking and listening in English in order to gain more confidence in their day to day lives. The course offers a virtual 'conversation cafe' where learners are taught by an experience qualified tutor who will guide them and help them build their English skills. The course is on Tuesday and Friday 9.30am - 12pm. This is a place where learners can make mistakes and work together to improve their English language skills at whatever pace they need.

Course description

In this class you can practise your English conversational skills and build up your knowledge with other learners of similar levels and experiences.

This class is for learners awaiting their face - to - face classes starting in May.

The class will concentrate on speaking and listening but you will also learn basic reading, writing skills as well as basic grammar and punctuation being embedded also. During the classes you will learn together doing pair and group conversational work with the support from your tutor who will offer verbal feedback around pronunciation, word order etc. This is a safe place to practise where you are not under any pressure and you can do so making as many mistakes as you need to. This is how you can improve after all. By the end of the course you should be much more confident in speaking English in your day to day lives as well as listening to natives in the community. Progression opportunities are available in May and again in September where you can progress onto both unaccredited and accredited courses.
