Entry Levels 1,2,3: If you have never studied this subject before and you’re not confident in your skills, Entry levels are a good starting point.
Level 1: Covers basic skills and knowledge needed for this subject
Level 2: Building on basic knowledge or experience. Similar to Grade 4/ C at GCSE or O level in England or Standards in Scotland.
Level 3: Learn about the topic in-depth and have a broad range of skills. Independent working Equivalent to an A level in England or Higher in Scotland.
Beginners: A perfect introduction if you have no experience and skills in this subject.

Course description
This is an English course for adults. You will develop basic English language skills. Before you can enrol on this course, you’ll do a skills check. This is for us to make sure you get on the right course for your level.
On this course you will get used to being back in the classroom as an adult and starting to learn literacy in English. You will learn things like: English alphabet, writing upper case and lower case letters, recognise and read common words in English, use simple punctuation such as full stops, improve your spelling of common words as well as write simple sentences.
This course will help you in your first stages of your journey in learning English and offers you progression opportunities in the next academic year moving towards pre-entry and entry level ESOL classes and qualifications.
