Entry Levels 1,2,3: If you have never studied this subject before and you’re not confident in your skills, Entry levels are a good starting point.
Level 1: Covers basic skills and knowledge needed for this subject
Level 2: Building on basic knowledge or experience. Similar to Grade 4/ C at GCSE or O level in England or Standards in Scotland.
Level 3: Learn about the topic in-depth and have a broad range of skills. Independent working Equivalent to an A level in England or Higher in Scotland.
Beginners: A perfect introduction if you have no experience and skills in this subject.
Improvers: The next step if you have basic skills or knowledge but want to progress them further.
Advanced: Build on the solid experience and skills you have in this subject, applying your skills and knowledge in a more complex way.
Course overview
Course description
This course is designed for beginners and improvers, starting with the basics, we will look at and explore different crafts and projects, students will learn about materials and tools, colour, colour mixing, composition and planning projects. More advanced students will continue to develop their individual personal style and artistic expression. Through step- by- step demonstrations and hands on exercises, students will gradually build confidence in creating artwork to include paper and card craft, mixed media, scrap booking, parchment craft, altered items and assemblage and much more. As the course progresses students will, practice and develop more advanced techniques, including clay work, making your own embellishments and more advanced painting and inking skills and techniques. We will explore and choose craft projects of your choice, to meet your individual needs and expectations through group discussion. You will learn about different ways to use recycled items, how to alter the use of and decorate an unused item to give it a new lease of life. You will receive constructive feedback and ongoing assessment, partake in group discussions and critique with peers, to encourage motivation growth and development. You will learn in a welcoming supportive, friendly environment, building confidence, make new friends, make something wonderful and have some fun.
