Course overview
Course description
This session will introduce you to a printing technique using natural objects. You will spend some time gathering suitable materials from the garden and explore ways of printing an image onto paper and fabric. You will also have an opportunity to explore creating repeat patterns. Some time will be spent looking at colour theory, mixing colours and different ways of applying paint to the objects. You will gain an understanding of what is meant by a positive and a negative image as well as what a ghost print is. There will be information given regarding the types of paints that can be used on paper, as well as those used on fabric.
I will show you how to make a simple book to keep your samples in, as well as some ideas for further embellishments which could be added to your prints.
Our experienced tutor will guide you through the process of creating unique prints demonstrating techniques and guiding you through the process of making your own individual prints.
This course is delivered in partnership with Growing Links at their community garden in Penzance. You will have access to the garden to select materials that you can use in your printing.
