Course description
Are you interested in the underlying drawing structures that artists use now and have used in the past? Do you want to learn about the techniques employed by famous artists such as the Renaissance masters and artists from the Modernist era in Europe? This 3-week course will introduce you to the techniques of the Golden Section, perspective and composition within drawing and how a variety of artists have made use of them when planning their paintings. Why not join this course and find out for yourself how to use these methods in your own artworks?
This course is aimed at anyone that is interested in discovering how to use techniques of the Golden Section, perspective and composition within their drawings. You will learn the basics of each technique and find out how famous artists have used these methods to help them create paintings in their own personal style. Artists such as Leonardo Da Vinci, Paul Cézanne, Georgia O’Keeffe, David Hockney will be explored as well as a variety of other fascinating artists. Demonstrations will take place via tutor webcam and you will have access to downloadable handouts and online resources. Sessions will comprise of introductions to specific techniques, artists and themes each week.
