Since 1903, our charitable aim has been to see that no adult is denied access to education on the basis of social, economic or personal disadvantage.
A short, part-time course is often the starting point for inspiring personal transformations, from increased self-confidence to getting a first job after long-term unemployment, and learning again as an adult after childhood difficulties at school.
We also run special projects with our partners to provide education, for example, to people recovering from drug and alcohol addiction, adults with depression and mental health issues, ex-offenders, and men and women who are vulnerable in society. We work with hundreds of partner organisations and agencies to provide specially developed courses for people who benefit from the kind of adult education that we can provide.
