Course overview
Course description
If you’ve promised yourself one day you’ll start writing, these are the classes for you!
Two Sides to Every Story introduces you to the magic of weaving two stories into one. This is a popular structure to many modern stories so let’s see how it works and what it can do for the story you have in mind. We will read extracts from published writers who braid so well: from Lidia Yuknavitch, Ruth Ozeki, Eula Biss and craft notes from Barbara Miller and notes from Shapes of Native Nonfiction. Through writing exercises and the opportunity to share your work in class and receive appreciative feedback from the tutor and peers, you’ll develop a fuller sense of what how a braided story can embellish your story. The workshop will inspire you to write, get words on your page and equip you with techniques to experiment with after the class has finished.
All classes are open to writers of all genres and level. They are stand-alone: book for one or come for all!
