Course overview

Do you want to start learning English? If English is not your first language and you want to learn at an entry level, this course will get you started with some of the words and phrases needed to communicate with other people in everyday situations. It will also give you confidence with some communication skills. This entry 1 level ESOL course will help you to communicate ideas in English. You will practice reading, writing, speaking and listening, with a focus on conversation skills. You will also learn new vocabulary, improve your pronunciation, and start to learn about English grammar. You will work with other learners at a similar level and be expected to take part in pair and group activities in the classroom.

Course description

On this course you will develop basic English language skills in a friendly and informal class, you will improve your English speaking skills. It is aimed at entry level and you will practise English speaking for everyday situations like health, travel, work and shopping.

The aim of the course is to improve English language skills while also encouraging learners to get

more involved in their community, access services and understand opportunities.

Our course is tailored to the needs of learners with low levels of English proficiency. As you settle

in, you'll soon find yourself immersed in a rich tapestry of modules, each carefully crafted to

weave language learning seamlessly into your everyday life

The following topics will be covered in accessible, bitesize sections with full support from a

friendly tutor: friends and family, food and shopping, health, the local area, transport, budgeting,

life in the UK.

Most of our courses are government funded but if you don't qualify or need.
