Come and join our enthusiastic tutor and a group of likeminded crafters as we immerse ourselves into the world of paper-crafting and greeting card making. This engaging course will focus on transforming flat pieces of card and paper into captivating 3 dimensional scenes and pop-up surprises. On this course we will discuss dioramas in general, we will look at suitable themes and the basic materials and tools needed. We will also create simple pop-up mechanisms to surprise and delight our recipients. Craft in general is known to have a positive effect on the mental health of those that do it, and card-making is fun, productive and very rewarding: you create lovely, personalised cards for the special people in your life. Craft: One Day Workshop making Paper Mache Pots

If you are looking for a fun, low cost, environmentally friendly way to make biodegradable pots for seedlings then this one-day workshop could be for you. Paper mache has a long history of being used to make a variety of items and is the perfect method to make pots for seedlings whose roots may be damaged if taken out of the pot for planting as the paper-mache pot can be placed into the hole without removing the seedlings and the pot will degrade naturally over timey. Fashion reflects the influence of politics, trade, social exchange and foreign encounter. In this course, we will explore the changing fashions of seventeenth-century Britain. Alongside sessions that consider the history of fashion are practical, hands-on sessions that explore the materials used, and construction techniques employed by makers of the period.
