How we're keeping you safe in our classes
At the WEA, the safety of our students is our top priority.
We would like to reassure you that we are continuing to follow official English and Scottish guidance on COVID-19 safety. We are doing everything we can to make sure you can safely attend our courses as they gradually return to centres in your local community by following official guidance on cleaning, handwashing and social distancing.
We have ensured that appropriate risk assessments have been completed and all of our staff have been provided with information on how to reduce the risk of spreading the virus, making sure you can stay safe in the classroom as you learn with us.
Where courses are taking place at centres in your local community, our staff and tutors will make sure they are delivered in line with UK guidelines, meaning that a 2-metre distance can be maintained in our classrooms, allowing for social distancing, to help reduce the risk.
In situations where people are unable to be 2-metres apart, we are doing everything possible to help minimise the risk of transmission by wearing masks, encouraging regular hand-washing and hand sanitising, and making sure spaces are regularly cleaned.
Facilities where you can wash your hands will be made available, and appropriate cleaning processes will be followed to make sure your learning environment is kept safe and clean.
If you’re not yet ready to return to the classroom, we continue to offer hundreds of online learning opportunities in our online learning environment.
We hope these steps help to reassure you that we are doing everything we can to make sure that you can continue to learn with us in a safe environment.
