The WEA in Cheshire and Warrington organises a range of courses in response to local demand.
There are three voluntary branches operating in Disley, Neston and Northwich supporting the organisation of general interest Culture courses and these are also organised in other places including Chester, Congleton, Frodsham, Knutsford, Macclesfield and Warrington. Community course provision helping with Health and Wellbeing and Employability includes a well-established programme with partner organisation Endurance supporting people recovering from various addictions through personal development with mentoring. This programme includes residential courses. In Chester other personal development support is provided alongside a community Creative Writing Workshop.
A local authority contract from Cheshire East funds our work helping those with hearing loss through lip reading and sign language courses - both courses in Macclesfield, and lip reading also in Congleton, Holmes Chapel and Poynton. With the introduction of online courses from Summer 2020 a range of Employability and English language courses have been offered.
