Steve is a retired trade union educator. Until 2013 he was responsible for a portfolio of international trade union development projects for the International Textile, Garment and Leather Workers’ Federation (ITGLWF). Co-author of a ‘User-Friendly Projects Handbook’ for trade unionists. Worked in India, Bangladesh, Thailand and Philippines of projects for the elimination of child labour especially in the textile and garment industries. Worked in Central America and Dominican Republic to promote decent work and trade union capacity building. Worked on various projects throughout the continent of Africa to promote decent work and trade union rights. Involved in projects around successive Olympic Games and Football World Cups to promote workers’ rights in the sportswear industry. Worked in Pakistan with ILO and manufacturers of footballs to promote decent work and especially freedom of association.
