Music: The infinite variety of music – exploring the evolution of styles {classical to modern}

From Renaissance to Baroque, through the Classical and Romantic periods, Impressionism, Expressionism, then on to the diversity of our own times, musical styles have evolved and developed sometimes with startling suddenness , but not always so. Wild Flowers of the Peak District and an Anthology of wild and garden plant stories

This day will provide not only superb illustrations of Peak District flowers but we will also learn why the Peak District is so important to botanists in terms of its position, geology, climate and the effect of climate change.

The plant stories will cover wild and garden plants, plus fungi, lichens and seaweed, and will show their importance as sources of food and medicine and their use in the two world wars. On a lighter note, there will be references to poetry and folklore.

Patrick’s books on both topics will be on sale.
