The Arts of Ageing in Chester is a Brightlife funded project which helps reduce social isolation in older people by bringing them together using a broad range of exciting and interesting artistic subjects.
Brightlife is about providing opportunities for people aged 50 plus who are experiencing or at risk of social isolation in Cheshire West and Chester. It is about change, challenging the negative perceptions and assumptions about growing old and instead focussing on the positive role older people play in their communities. Brightlife is based on partnership working and collaboration between organisations. Brightlife will ensure that older people are at the centre of developments, whilst enabling communities and organisations to develop new initiatives that respond to local need. The Brightlife programme has been successful in securing £5 million from the Big Lottery Fund’s Fulfilling Lives: Ageing Better Programme to deliver a five year programme, starting in April 2015.
We currently have a number of workshops which are aimed at reducing social isolation in people aged 50+ such as:
Introduction to Creative Arts (Fabulous 50+ Arts)
Contemporary Textiles (Fabulous 50+ Arts)
Singing (Fabulous 50+ Arts)
Tai Chi (Fabulous 50+ Arts Brightlife project)
Please contact us if you are interested in signing on to one of our activities.
