WEA responds to a second lockdown
2020 saw the WEA embrace online learning with gusto, but as an organisation we were very much looking forward to a Spring re-awakening of our face-to-face provision, which is much loved by students.
Over recent months we have piloted a number of face-to-face courses in a Covid-secure way, with much success, gratitude and positive feedback from students on how safe they felt.
However, the new lockdowns in England and Scotland mean that the re-opening of the large majority of our face-to-face provision must now be suspended until it is safe to do so. We will be ready, to re-launch it as soon as we can.
In the coming days, we will be in touch with any students who have booked onto courses we are no longer able to provide, wherever possible offering alternatives.
We will also continue to develop and deliver our rich curriculum online, providing the one-to-one support learners need alongside the class interaction that the WEA is known for.
Anyone new to online learning will find the support they need to enjoy it to the maximum and find an engaging and supportive student learning community around them – even in the digital sphere! We look forward to meeting you there!
